After months of work, we are excited to finally lift the curtain on a massive rebranding effort we have been working on for our company, IAG Aero Group.
The new branding changes our whole identity and expression allowing us to grow internationally. Our unified company is aimed to demonstrate the breadth of our commercial aircraft engine services and to present our strategic vision to the aerospace sector. The rebranding campaign includes new names, service entities, locations, logos, and a website.
Our mission – to provide full commercial aircraft engine services across the globe – continues to evolve. The first step we underwent: a name change. This was indicative of where the company has been directing its services. IAG Aero Group was established to be able to comprehensively present to the marketplace our full array of offerings. We decided on the name by distilling the essence of our brand down to its core – the logo ‘IAG’– and built it back up.
Design was only one part of the effort. The realization of the new identity required the collective work and diligence from our aerospace customers, spanning the entire world. We decided to introduce two new service entities: IAG Engine Field Services, to provide support for all in the field needs and IAG Material Repair, to enhance engine performance with first-class technology and high quality. The two new services will lead customers to embrace the expanding, multi-service company we’ve become.
With expansion in mind, we are excited to share our two latest locations that aim to make IAG Aero Group closer to our customers. IAG Engine Field Services will be conducted out of the new Dallas, Texas location and IAG Engine Center Europe will be in a world-class 200,000-square-foot facility in Rome, Italy. The goal is to give IAG Aero Group a full-service presence as ubiquitous as our engine center services-all laying the foundation for marketing a slew of new commercial aerospace services down the road.
Since its inception, we decided that the IAG Aero Group logos had to be strikingly simple: red logo sits above a single, approachable ‘Aero Group’ on a clean canvas. But as the company moved forward, the canvas itself has changed, and the inputs and needs are becoming more diverse. New services and ways to interact and communicate have emerged. Customers now engage with IAG Aero Group using a constellation of services, and our brand should embrace the opportunities offered by each service. We wanted to retain these qualities by combining the mathematical purity of geometric forms. Our new logotype is set in a geometric Roboto Slab typeface and has a multi-colored playfulness – a reminder that we’ll always be unconventional. With that in mind, we agreed to keep the original ‘IAG’ and include a new color palette to make it multi-colored.
The red was the strongest and most recognizable color from our previous palette. We decided to keep ‘IAG’ red for all entities as well as having it serve as our brand’s corporate color for print and digital applications. The IAG Aero Group logotype benefits from whitespace between letterforms, but when colors are adjacent – as in the case of the Engine Center blue tab – they optically blend and can result in a darkening dimming of the original value. We adjusted and pushed the vibrancy of the red - corporate, green – IAG Field Services, sapphire blue – IAG Engine Centers, yellow – IAG Trading, royal blue – IAG Materials, and orange – IAG Material Repair to maintain saturation and pop.
We have given a fresh coat of paint to our website, iagaerogroup.com, which is now far cleaner than previous iterations, and features subtle animations and vivid imagery, arranged with our new signature swoosh design. We have incorporated a signature design in our new brand. The design is a swoosh representing a contrail. The swoosh follows the color palette. IAG Aero Group’s designers have overhauled the website with new iconography and typography, to bring a level of consistency to our services. Many of our services across IAG Aero Group will be releasing the update, but for most people, the very first experience of the new brand will be through the company’s website. We worked hard to deliver the first embodiment of the text, logos, and services demonstrating the identity’s full range of expression.
We believe that the new look matches what we’ve become: IAG Aero Group – integrated solutions, one provider. Our design goal was to meet our values and the customers’ we serve. It had to be fundamentally apparent that we are an aerospace company, that our platform is comprehensive, that we are reliable, and above all we are customer oriented. Evolving the brand will continue to be as dynamic and unconventional as we strive to be. As we move forward creating new services, we hope this work will continue to deliver the standard of excellence you expect from IAG Aero Group – wherever the new may take us.
